Seeking Nominations for Cybersecurity Docket’s ‘Incident Response 50’ for 2026

At the conclusion of Incident Response Forum D.C. 2026, Cybersecurity Docket will announce our “Incident Response 50” for 2026 – our list of the 50 best Incident Response attorneys worldwide. Specifically, our list will honor 50 incident response attorneys who not only have the right stuff to manage a data breach response, but are also the kind of professionals critical to have on speed-dial when the inevitable data breach occurs.

Cybersecurity Docket created its inaugural list in 2016, and has updated the list annually since 2018 (see the list from 2025 and prior years here). 2026 marks the tenth(!) edition of this list of the best incident response lawyers in the business.

The list is guided by a simple question: Who would you hire if your company suddenly found itself the victim of a data breach?

In addition, there are three threshold requirements:

• Candidates for the Incident Response 50 must be in the private sector for at least the past two years.

• Candidates for the Incident Response 50 must have a practice that is dedicated primarily to data breach response work.

• Candidates for the Incident Response 50 must be attorneys (as opposed to accountants, consultants or other experts).

The deadline for submissions is March 23, 2026 and we will announce the 50 honorees at a ceremony immediately following Incident Response Forum D.C. 2026, which will take place on Wednesday, April 22, 2026 (an in-person event at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, D.C., and also available via live-stream online).
